Meet your Speakers

Michael Ward, Partner, Business Services and Outsourcing at BDO, has over 30 years of progressive business experience spanning accounting, finance, marketing, strategic planning and executive leadership positions. Since 2004, he has overseen accounting services and served as a consulting CFO to a variety of nonprofit and small business clients with annual budgets of less than $1 million to more than $85 million per year. Michael serves as a strategic and consultative resource to both management and Boards of his clients. He brings the additional perspective of having served on nonprofit boards since 2003, currently serving organizations with annual budgets more than $200 million and total assets of more than $150 million. He guides budget development and financial analysis, contributes to strategic planning, and provides financial leadership to clients in interactions with funders and regulators in addition to overseeing the accounting function.

Melissa Panagides-Busch has over 17 years of experience and expertise in project management and is Management Advisory Services Senior Manager at BDO. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) who has managed large-scale, complex and challenging projects in a variety of programmatic settings. She has established and successfully managed Project Management Offices (PMOs) in a variety of organizations and most recently build and managed a PMO for several large organizational change and strategic initiatives. Melissa brings a practical and professional focus to the work. Her PMOs are structured and managed to address the immediate needs the organization to keep work flowing while focusing on the organizational and cultural changes that were necessary for a productive and effective future state.
